ANDRITZ to supply complete electromechanical equipment for J&K hydro project

International technology group ANDRITZ has received the contract from Indian utility company Chenab Valley Power Projects (P) Ltd. to supply the complete electromechancial equipment for the run-of-the-river Kiru hydropower plant (624 MW) located on the Chenab river in Kishtwar district in Jammu & Kashmir. The company received the contract through tough competition carried out through an international competitive bidding process. The project would generate 2,272.02 MU in a 90 percent dependable year.

The contract valued at over € 50 million will entail a scope of deliverythat will include supply, design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of four numbers turbines and generators, associated accessories and auxiliaries, auxiliary electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, 400 kV GIS and 400 kV outdoor pothead yard equipment. The contract will be executed by ANDRITZ’s Indian subsidiary with its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Mandideep (near Bhopal) and Prithla (near Faridabad). By securing this contract, ANDRITZ has yet again confirmed its position as a leading player in the hydropower market in India, an official statement said.
