KEC plans to unveil its digital interventions

  The Indian electrical equipment industry has, over the years, successfully established a diversified, mature and robust manufacturing base, with a sturdy supply chain, and proven performance design of products. “The industry has also garnered global reputation for sourcing of products and components and also of Indian transmission and other EPC contractors,” observes Vimal Kejriwal, Managing Director and CEO, KEC International Ltd. On this note he says, “KEC, today has footprints in 61 plus countries and more than 50 per cent of our revenue consistently comes from International markets.”
With regards to recent performance of industry he says, “The industry has achieved a moderate growth of around 9 per cent during the first half of FY16 as compared to around 7-8 per cent achieved for similar period in the previous year.”
Going forward, he states, a multitude of opportunities are expected to boost the demand for electrical equipment in India. Big ticket projects like the Rs. 43,000 crore green energy corridor, transmission line projects of around Rs. 100,000 crore, expected investment of Rs. 10,000 crore for the strengthening of T&D system in North-Eastern region, doubling of existing capacities and refurbishment demand all create a positive outlook for the sector.
In addition, SEBs annual CAPEX are also expected to exceed that of PGCIL CAPEX by manifold. The government’s push on smart cities and solar power are also expected to generate ample opportunities for equipment players.
New connections through ElecramaKEC has been taking part in Elecrama since more than a decade and is one of the biggest exhibitors. Commenting on the participation in Elecrama 2016, Kejriwal says, “The event has evolved a lot over the years. The convergence of global industry participants from across the value chain is massive, which is very encouraging and appealing.” Elecrama showcases the best of products and technologies alongside providing with opportunities to network with clients, vendors, and consultants.
Innovative products Informing about the technology that will be displayed at event, he says, “Apart from showcasing our capabilities and credentials in the manufacturing and project management space, we would also be demonstrating innovative and modern construction techniques adopted by us. We would also display our new innovations in the field of cable manufacturing like the largest ever 220 kV XLPE EHV cable manufactured by us, anti- theft cables, hybrid cables etc.”
Besides, KEC is also adopting digital interventions which could be revealed during Elecrama.
Buyers sellers meetKEC expects a range of opportunities including sourcing, partnering, JVs, networking etc. from Elecrama and its concurrent events like the CEO Summit and the Reverse Buyer Seller Meet.
