Upgrade to ‘MODULAR’ for cost-effective and simplified panel building

Upgrade to ‘MODULAR’ for cost-effective and simplified panel building
.

Panel builders will have to embrace these newer technologies to be predictable in quality, and on-time in delivery and reduce their lead times.

India is the third-largest producer and second largest consumer of electricity worldwide, with an installed power capacity of 395.07 GW as of January 2022. India’s installed renewable energy capacity stood at 152.36 GW, representing 38.56 per cent of the overall installed power capacity. The Indian power sector is forecasted to attract investments worth $128.24–135.37 billion between FY19–23. The future of the sector looks bright since by 2026-27 the country’s power generation installed capacity will be close to 620 GW.

Let’s hope that to add to these statistics,

• The State Electricity Boards start performing better,

• More privatisation of these SEBs start happening,

• The projected FDI as above actually happens,

• Renewables get the right thrust and momentum,

• Transmission losses are addressed comprehensively, and

• The electrical infrastructure gets further improved,

Then, India could very well race to be a 24/7 guaranteed power supply country at an affordable price. In my humble opinion, this is not a pipe dream but an achievable goal. This is likely to throw up another problem, for which we will have to brace ourselves. The challenge that electrical distribution will have to cope with the speed of generation and transmission. Here is where we will have to seriously look at moving from a conventional welded design of panels to a faster, smarter, and greener modular design. Panel builders will have to embrace these newer technologies to be predictable in quality, and on-time delivery and reduce their lead times.

Just about 8 years ago, getting an enquiry of a crore of rupees was a rarity for a panel builder in India. Today, the trend is raging upwards with 5, 10 and more crores of rupees of enquiries being a monthly matter.

This trend is likely to land panel builders with an overdose of orders; a good problem to have. However, we need to be in a position to grab this growth opportunity, and this is possible only if we adopt the modular enclosure system; as fabrication is the acknowledged major constraint in panel building.

Modutec is on a mission to Simplify Panel Building and we have cost-effective solutions for you here. We invite Panel Builders to visit our factory in Bengaluru at the mutual earliest convenience. PBs can understand how we manufacture, assemble, and deploy modular enclosure systems. When you allow us to supply the mechanicals, you can focus on the electricals. This unidirectional way of working will help you add extraordinary value to your customers and also render your factory asset-light.

If you, however, have your fabrication and powder coating arrangements, then we have a solution for you too. We can initially offer you the signature components of profiles, joiner pieces, and special accessories. You can make your own partitions and plinths. We can then supply you with the hinged and bolted doors under the scheme “ESSNTEC”, or essential technology.

Once you are ready to make the doors too, you can just get the signature components from us. This arrangement we call PARTTEC, or parts technology. The beauty is that you only need to stock the signature components and assemble the panel structure within a day of the drawing approval. By the next day, the 275 gsm GI partitions could be got ready and the assembly of bus bars and switchgear with wiring commenced.

In about a week, the doors could arrive either from Modutec or from your manufacturing facility, and yes, within 3 weeks, the entire switchboard can be delivered. This system beats the speed of delivery of a welded system, hands down, any day!

ESSNTEC & PARTTEC are non-IEC solutions and if you need these to be IEC, we have a license agreement for this. Reach out to us for the details. And till then, when you do have an IEC 61439 requirement, we can support you from MODUTEC with the entire modular switchboard enclosure system.

So, an answer for every challenge, a way forward through the vicissitudes of a growing yet challenging market, with a partnership that has the potential to pay you rich dividends. So, please allow us to Simplify the Panel Building for you!
